Still love it! Noted two years ago that this is a excellent one and I agree. Now all tertiary flavors, very aromatic with charcoal, tobacco, tobacco, no fruit minimal spice still with heat on the nose, on the pallet charcoal tobacco complexity richness whatever long finish really excellent one!

Deep Garnet moving back from the rim-drink up in the next few years, well into the drinking now. Reticent on the nose initially, the wine opened up after an hour in the decanter to reveal complex tertiary complex aromas of animal fur, forest floor, tea, earth, mushrooms-great stuff. A seductive, luscious, velvet mouthfeel with a medium +, tart cherry taste that balances nicely with present ripe tannins. On the deeper, more tannic, more about power than finesse side of the always complex Ribbon Ridge AVA.

Brick red with several layers of color moving back from a clear rim. Medium dark. Brilliant and looks like a drink-now pinot. Deep, complex, highly aromatic smells of tart red cherry, red current (smells like a very very good Marsannay or Givry) nice violet floral note and under the fruit, mushrooms. No tertiary aging notes. Just nicely integrated flavors at this point. Light to medium mouthfeel, juicy red fruit acidity and prominent, ripe tannins. Wonderful, extended and well-balanced finish which ties together the parts of this beautifully made wine. Typical Willamette PN with fruit plus acid and earth. Ribbon Ridge is the newer estate vineyard (the Coast Range was planted first.) With age, these vines will offer not more concentration, but more complexity as they develop more mineral flavors.

Quick decant and open for business. Impressive florals, black plum, raspberry and spice and the opulent nose with rich dark fruits and some structure. Tasty and still evolving.
