I am not a huge fan of late picked or late harvest Zin. I think the abv gets too high and the wines tend to taste too pruney/raisiny for my taste. That being said, this is actually pretty decent. Lovely berry fruit. This wine is mature. 15.6% abv.

Initially came off more like port than zin. It is very basic and has a single sweet note. Not enough acidity or other flavors to carry the heavy fruit flavors. Its not a "bad" wine, just not something to write home about.

Hints of chocolate and some sweetness, this is not my cup of tea for a zin. It seemed too sweet to be dry, to dry to be sweet and had absolutely no acidity, coming off fat and flabby. Not good, you can have it.

I prefer my zin's without 3/4% residual sugar and without enough heat and phenol to take the chrome of a bumper. This wine does not fit either of those criteria. Not horrible, but not an enjoyable wine either. Nose of paint thinner (probably a bit of VA) and blueberry. Flavors are hot and sweet up front, with a mid and late palate of pruned fruit and sous-bois. Like many Aussie shiraz wtih RS, this wine is too sweet and hot to be enjoyed alone. It demands a big dinner to tame and hide its flaws. I am not a fan of late harvest zins nor of Shiraz with obvious RS, so take my review with this caveat. IMHO, these wines should be dry unless fortified.

11/22/08: Blueish red color, with a big wonder nose with aromas of blueberry, prunes , vanilla, with flavors of blueberry, prunes, black cherry and raspberry, with a lttle oak, and spice. The wine is full bodied, with soft tannin and although one dimensional is not boring at all. The finish is long fruity and earthy
