Excellent. Yes, I know this is SG’s top wine, but rightfully so. I love their Single Vineyard CS Offerings, but this was excellent with great balance and an excellent depth of fruit, oak, plum, vanilla! With fine, smooth tannins and acid. I think this has Years of Aging ahead of it... bummer this was my final bottle! 😢

Still super tight. Wouldn’t touch for at least 5 more years. But you can tell the structure and core of this wine is going to be killer once integrated.

Tasting: Sequoia Grove (Sequoia Grove): A Bordeaux blend dominated by sauvignon (61%), along with 36% franc and 3% merlot, aged for 22 months in French oak. Notes of red berry fruit, black currant, plum, underbrush and mocha. Full-bodied. Tannins are firm, but fine-grained. Flavors of dark fruit, plum, mocha and vanilla with spice accents in the finish. Nicely balanced across the palate. 92-93 pts.

Decanted for 4 hours and this was still tight. I know this can be a beautiful wine, but, it needs a few more years to lay down. I was willing to experiment as I have more.

Solid wine, but still a bit expensive for what it is. Still shows gobs of fruit and the tannins are mellowing nicely. Drink now-2025.
