  • First time trying a Wrath wine. So far, so good. Fermata translates from Italian into stop or halt, which is to indicate that ML was stopped at about the halfway mark, presumably to create a "best of both worlds" profile that's rich and crisp at once. Mission accomplished imo, with the rich side being more tropical than buttery for me -- lots of coconut and pineapple, as well as banana, honey, and apple pie a la mode. Opulent finish with good length.

The style is probably too full-throttle for some, and even I wouldn't reach for it every day, but it's a great alternative to the ever-increasing number of "Flavor is a Flaw" chards out there. 91-92 pts -- very well-made wine that would be a fair purchase at SRP $35, but is a screaming deal at the NH monopoly's closeout price of $18.

  • Color: deep, luscious yellow core with long, viscous legs. Opulent nose of golden raisins, butter, honeysuckle and a touch of caramel. Very fruit forward on the palate but with enough acidity to keep it on the rails. Apple pie, lemon curd, honey and butterscotch make this pretty enticing. Honestly, this reminds me of a really nice, high-quality Santa Barbara Chard and that's unexpected for a Monterey appelation Chardonnay. Don't know how well it will age but who cares? It's great now and for at least 2-3+ years. Kudos to the Wrath team for a delicious wine and at a reasonable QPR as well!

  • Delicious chardonnay dominated by apple and pear, flinty tones, caramel and butter. Opulent, open textured and creamy.
    Rich and luscious.
