  • Wines drunk around London; 1/3/2024-1/7/2024 (London, UK): I popped and poured this at dinner. I did have it put in a decanter, but it was drunk over a couple of hours. After about a half hour, this is showing beautifully with bright red cherries, raspberries, red currants, cloves, cinnamon, rose petals, red fruits, fresh picked berries, licorice, and Asian spices. There is excellent depth here and a lot of purity. The Medium/full bodied feel is elegant and deft with crisp, medium acidity and silky, medium+ tannins. This is some absolutely glorious Grenache from unsung terroir. It sees whole cluster, yet it doesn't come close to stemmy or too baking spice-y. Instead, this is pure and balanced with a headiness that is extremely inviting. This is beautiful right now and I can easily see it ramping up a notch with some cellaring.
