  • So I opened one of these with great anticipation knowing James Suckling gave this a 92. It might get there someday, but right now this 2020 is very young and still very wild. Tannins that are still very astringent, dominating and overwhelming the palate. It has a lovely floral nose with hints of cinnamon that belie the assault on your mouth to come. I have about 2/3 of this bottle left to sample again after 2 more days of rest, hoping it comes together and mellows. I can't really give much of a flavor profile until the astringency abates. Medium- light body.

I think with time (2 more years? ) This will improve greatly. It is just a wild teenager now.

48 hour update: much more tame, although I'm still going to say that this will be much better in 2026. Nice floral and raspberry notes on the nose. Cinnamon now missing. A very balanced fruit palate with good mouth feel, clay and a hint of minerals. Medium body, like most Valley de Uco cabs. Tannins still dominate the finish, but much more drinkable now even though it needs more time in the bottle. Changing my score to 89.
