Vin Chicago Pickup Party & Tasting (Bobak's Signature Events): Retailer tasting. Deep inky color. Notes of chocolate, clay and dried herbs underneath an abundance of nicely ripened black fruit. Full-bodied and flamboyant, with lush dark fruit, spice and chocolate. Good in this style, and well-priced to boot.

Named after the patriarch of the family many generations past? Ripe Cabernet, but leaning more towards the cherry side of things than black currant. And then more structured on the palate than I would have thought, just more backbone and acidity to it.

I thought it was ok. Too acidic and almost has a salinity or briny note (olive maybe). Not for me.

Bright, cheery, one dimensional….this may improve as I could see a few years in the cellar could help by a year or 2
