Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Easter Edition 2024 (Asperg): Tasted blind blind. Clear, deep garnet color. Fine, herbaceous nose with fines tobacco. On the palate dense and warm, fine tobacco, high, racy acidity, some blood and lots of herbs. Good length. 90

sous-bois, wet leaves, herbs, cedar, raw meat/iron/rusty nail, rose petals, basilico, saddle leather and cherry, dried herbs and red fruits in the finish. easy drinking, medium-bodied, fresh but not too much acidity. Drink up! gets better after one and a half hour in the decanter...

Brick color. Nose of cranberries and raisins. Flavors of cranberry, plum, cinnamon, and a bit of cedar. A touch out of balanced. Still very acidic with fairly pronounced tannins. Regardless, this is a very nice wine that is ready to drink now and for at least the next 5 years. decant for sediment.

Last bottle. To me this has always been kind of a meh, CC. Pricey for what it is. Solid. Ok. Not great. This misses the sappy, resiny cherry fruit, damp earth and Sangio bite on the finish that I love. More Super Tuscan than CC.

Dusty, tactile & chewy. This shows Ama's propensity to add international grapes to the Chianti Classico blend. Something else dominates the Sangiovese at this stage & it's ok, but not what you'd normally expect from Chianti.
