Decanted about 30 minutes prior to consuming, and drank over about 2-2.5 hours. This was drinking very well. Nice strawberry, red berry nose with a little earthy funk on the initial pour. Color was showing a little of its age taking on a slight bit of brick color, but the palate was still very fresh with plenty of fruit, balanced acidity and even a little bit of tannins of the finish. At the 2 hour or so mark, the aromatics really blossomed picking up a really pretty floral element and the fruit aromas really intensified as well. Really nice bottle and by far drank the best of the three I had. Sorry it was my last, as this seemed to still have plenty of life left.

High Density Planting: Visit with Paul Sloan of Small Vines (Small Vines's Estate and Old Mill Vineyards): 1st bottle: Slightly bricking medium cranberry red color with pale meniscus; maturing, herbal, tart cranberry nose; tasty, tart cherry, ripe cranberry, herbal, mineral palate with good balance; medium-plus finish (18-19 mos. in barrel; 1st wine Small Vines produced; Paul Sloan felt this bottle lacked the "brightness and liveliness of fruit" it usually has) 2nd bottle: Slightly bricking medium cranberry red color with pale meniscus; nice, mature, subtly spicy cherry, raspberry nose with a touch of herbs; nice, vibrant, tart cherry, raspberry, black raspberry palate with integrated oak spice; medium-plus finish 91+ points

This was my last bottle and it was just singing. Bright acidity, big raspberry cola. Just great.
