Had alongside the 2009 Syrah and not as impressive but still very good. Fairly reticent nose of blackberries, figs and carbon paper. Mouth with deep notes of salted plums, Ribena and tobacco. Some fine tannins. Medium length finish of charred balsa wood and autumn leaves.

Mature. Truffles, earth and raspberry on the nose. Medium bodied. A very GSM profile, some kirsch, ripe raspberry and earthy dark fruit notes on the finish. Nice enough, good acid balance but a bit hollow on the mid palate.

Very good. Somewhat restrained on day one. On day three the fruit, spice and floral characteristics were on full display.
2nd bottle 5/1/19. Held up well for three days. Dark red fruit, anise, herbs, and spice. A little alcohol heat, great acidity. More of the same. Very nice.

(Gramercy Cellars The Third Man Red Wine Columbia Valley) Full of high toned red fruit, spice, floral notes, intense earthiness, and light game. Considerably more rich and generous in style than most of the winery’s offerings – but every bit as delicious - with abundant red fruit flavors that linger long after the last sip. A complete head turner. 50% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 22% Mourvedre. Alder Ridge, SJR, Gramercy Estate, and Minick vineyards. 14.7% alcohol. 490 cases produced.

Enjoyed this bottle with a lamb dinner-- paired great. Nice mellow, dark fruit nose/hue. Dark blue fruits, silky smooth, nicely balanced, terrific.

Great wine, well settled, in its prime. Blue fruit, slight pepper, little bacon fat
