This current offering is not a sweet wine, and actually is quite serious. I am not a big fan because it way over oaked, but the grape growing and wine making seem first rate. It has rich dark color. The nose reeks of oak, probably not from barrels. There is solid viscosity and mouth feel. The hidden fruit has ripe California flavors. They don't tell the varietals. There is some raspberry, blackberry and orange peel. Nicely integrated acid, tannin and alcohol.

Strawberry marmalade, plum, hints of sandalwood. Jammy, but not overly concentrated with lifting acidity and a fruity finish. Good BBQ wine.

Very good smooth red blend. Worth keeping a bottle around to share or for dinner.

Just a simple easy drinking off-dry red. Nothing too special, but enjoyable in its simplicity.
