Drank this a bit after its drink-by date but it had held up fine. Dark color, dark berry fruits. If you like primitivo you'll like this. A good weeknight wine with pasta bolognese, and a great value at 6.99!

I "discovered" this wine about 5 years ago and always keep a few bottles as my every day pizza/pasta wine. The 2010 rendition seems to be very soft, with little or no tannic intrusion. Plenty of fruit and enough acid at the finish to give it an uplift. I don't think it will get any better. Drink now and wait for the next release. No world beater, but a fine QPR at <$8.

I am very surprised to get a lot of French oak on the nose and palate. Not that it doesn't work, just not at all typical for Puglian reds. The oak gives this 2010 some serious youth and vitality. The color is light, surprisingly clear purple. Nice violets on the nose with cherries and plums. Only medium bodied. Spicy red raspberry first across the lips, evolving to a richer cranberry further down. Things really start to integrate with some air and swirling. Not a big acid wine. Bark and black cherry finish.
