An engaging nose of floral spice, grated ginger, pomegranate and cherry. It is complex, deep and layered. It has so much flesh and a finish that is spice laden and oh so long. It has a high degree of elegance.

SHOCKED how youthful the wine was showing. The nose still showed a bit of toasted oak spice but filled with intense dark red fruit and the classic leroy cool sous bois. Strikingly primary on the palate still with broad pure cool cherry fruit. Would not have guessed 1990 due to how balanced and elegant the fruit is on the wine. I've always found 1990 Leroy to tend to be on the brasher bigger scaled side but this was fantastic in its elegance. The fine grain tannin is well integrated into the wine. Never thought I'd say that about any 1990 Richebourg let alone Leroy!
Blinded and it showed so much freshness and energy people were guess 201x burgundy. The age shows through the earthy mushroom notes, but the fruit is incredibly deep, pure, and pretty.

Deep ruby in colour. Medium nose intensity with notes of ripe red cherry, fresh black current. Slightly mushroom. Still primary and not into secondary or tietrary. Medium+ acidity and tannin. Long finish and medium+ body. Very surprised for a 31 years wine that it’s still very young. Excellent wine making.

Showing very well, with great depth and refinement, and not overly roasted or overly House-styled. Enough depth and freshness that it should be going strong for another 10-15 years.
