Garnet fading to lovely rose, rim variation consistent with age. Excellent clarity. Medium legs. Aromas are subtle, yet fruit dominant: blueberry, red and black currant. Just a hint of plum and fig. Finally, very faint oak, vanilla, and light toast. On the palate, plum and fig strengthen and a bit of clove is there, too. Medium body, smooth texture, Medium finish. Low acidity. Impression: varietally correct, nicely aged Cab. Tannins have clearly softened. At $24 with tax & shipping, QPR is just above average. Drink now or in 2021.
Further note: learned from Navarro that a Cab is not produced every year.

Garnet with some pink at rim; rim variation consistent with age. Excellent clarity; medium legs. Aromas are dark fruit dominant:black currant, raspberry, cranberry, blueberry, blackberry. Less distinct are medium toast, coffee, oak, vanilla, clove, black pepper, eucalyptus, black olive and soy sauce. Even a faint whiff of mushroom. Medium body, medium plus finish, smooth texture with some polish. Acidity is low. Impression: varietally correct, multidimensional. At $24 w/tax & shipping, QPR is average. Drink now or in 2020. Another Navarro wine I don't regret purchasing.

Color - Darker garnet Nose - Berries, currants. Palate - Soft, smooth fruit forward began to fall apart fairly rapidly once opened, after one hour it was gone showing its age. Was a 88 when first opened then fell to a 84 quite quickly. One to two years past its prime drink now and drink fast before it falls off.

A well made dark red wine with dark cheery notes in the bouquet. Lighter than expected in mouth feel, smooth texture, well balanced tannins.

I'm glad I held this bottle for several years. It's smooth & not tannic.
