  • This is kind of a cross between New World and Old World styles. It is old vine Grenache, from centuries old traditionally farmed vineyards, produced in a decidedly fruit forward style. I'm pretty sure they used mostly whole cluster fermentation, or at least only lightly crushed the grapes after destemming. All stainless fermentation and settling. The result is a big, explosive, hard hitting, fruit forward wine. I would not call it complex. It was made to drink quite young. Really dark color. Vibrant, active nose with violets, blueberry, and spicy pepper. The big mouth full of fruit is soft and pleasing, almost jammy. No oak, just the flavors Mother Nature gives us. Some dry tannins, pepper, and blueberry on a relatively short finish.
