Did a tasting tonight and this wine was #1 on the list for the first flight, Lots of berry and a very nice long finish. We tasted it against the St Joseph, 06 MRV, Louis Chavy and the 08 MRV.

I was unaware of this Beaux Freres second label. But I'm glad I came across it marked down on winebid. A well made wine showing classic New World and perhaps Oregon Pinot qualities. The color was incredibly light pinkish red. In fact, it was barely darker than the Crystal Light fruit punch we were drinking earlier. The aromatics are surprisingly intense though. Dark spice, robust funky earth, mossy forest floor focus. Really nice palate as well though a bit thinner than I would like from this producer. There was nice balance and the wine showed well for the twenty dollars I paid. I say if you can find it for around that give it a go.

Fresh, light ruby color. Upon the initial pour this was very aromatic with lots of charming ripe, red fruit and a bit of toast. In the mouth, the big fruit wasn't enough to round out the scratchy wool texture and alcohol leaving this wine wanting balance. It clashed with simple meals on the first and third night. While I did enjoy drinking it on its own, I would not buy again. If I had more, I would drink this in the next year or two.
