2010 AU BON CLIMAT NUITS XXX ANNIVERSARY BLANCHES au BOUGE SANTA MARIA VALLEY CHARDONNAY- 44% from Le Bon Vineyard, 56% from Bien Nacido K Block Vineyard; tasted blind; I`ve had a fair amount of this wine and thought I would recognise it, but wrongly called the 08` ABC as it; nonetheless, this shined as expected giving toasted almonds, spicy citrus, pear, white peach and honeysuckle; layers and layers kept unfolding as it had serious depth; great feel and long finish make this a winner.

Quite big and rich, but also with nice balance, and it never gets Heavy. A great chardonnay with loads of ripe tropical fruits, but also refreshing lemon/lime notes.

Developing nose with a pronounced intensity. Aromas of really ripe stone fruit - peach, mango and pineapple, grilled lemon, baked yellow apple, crushed stones and a hint of cap gun smoke. Looooots of toasty oak, butter, butterscotch, hazelnuts and popcorn. Lovely powerful nose!
Dry on the palate with a medium(+) acidity and medium(+) body. Medium(+) intensity with flavors of fat stone fruit, baked pineapple, lemon juice, cap gun smoke, oak, fudge, butter and hazelnuts. The finish is medium(+), bordering on long.
This wine is a beast. Big and powerful with truckloads of ripe fruit that balances the generous oak treatment. The acidity is fresh and vibrant keeping the wine from getting flabby. Drinking terrific today but has potential for further developing.

lots of cracked nut skin. nut kernel. just a touch of crunchy honey to the nose. roast cashew. wild ride. medium plus acid, stays away from circus peanut. fantastic and eye opening wine.

Among the best Chardonnays I've ever tasted. Compares favorably with many Grand Cru Burgs and when you factor in QPR it's no contest. RIP JC.
