PNP. Cork perfect. Color garnet. Nose mostly secondary w cedar and leather. Swishing shows persistent structure and secondary flavors. Sipping shows plums and dark fruits with totally smooth flavors and profile. Med finish. I was not expecting much from this, but I was amazed by this. Too bad I only have one. I was worried that this might be in decline or worse but it is delightful. It also has significant life ahead. I can't imagine that the Cain 5 is any better.

Tried both as pop and pour and with an aerator. The aerator brought out some harsh elements so we went with drinking immediately. Lead pencil nose, smooth and round,a bit short in the finish. The merlot, although a small part of the blend, was the most dominant note on the palate. Definitely time to drink up, but still alive.

Gave to LL to taste and review - 1991 was a fabulous year, but this wine was a disappointment. It had a nice, aged nose, but too much oak and too little fruit. The color was orangy-brick. The palate only showed a short, over-oaked, bitter finish. It's drinkable, but my advice is to give it to your favorite plonk drinker, or dump it.
