Restaurant purchase with poke; this has a richer nose with honeyed brioche alongside baked apple and pear tart; silky mouthfeel with good depth for the price point; I enjoyed this quite a bit and it is a good value.

Disgorged 12/22. Not sure if this is different release than the others have been describing but this is about as full throttle as BdB gets for me. Borders on rich fruit but acidity keeps it on edge. Have been drinking more blanc de noir lately and this provides same guts but without the earthiness. Yum. Drink now but can hold too I think.

(NV Varnier-Fannière "Cuvée Saint-Denis" Brut) ($75.00) A superb rendition of one of the 2-3 BEST VALUES in this portfolio. Again incisive yet generous, crabapple blossom and wisteria. The kind of wine that makes you want to propose marriage – even if you’re married already! As always from the Clos du Grand Pere in Avize, 65-year-old vines; a terroir lover’s dream. 35% ’05, 65% ’06, disgorged 11/10.
(NV Varnier-Fanniere Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée St-Denis) Light yellow color; slightly oxidized, tart apple nose; tasty, tart apple, mineral palate; medium-plus finish
(NV Varnier-Fanniere Cuvee St. Denis) This was somewhat of a two-faced wine. The nose smelled dirty and not too pleasant but the palate had lovely lime and creamy flavors with lovely purity. Good but I won't be going back for seconds.
(NV Varnier-Fanniere Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée St-Denis) Honeyed nose; tart citrus palate with honeyed edge; short finish

This has matured very well. Has become more pronounced and broader.

This is really a fantatic wine. Only regrets is that we only bought 1 bottle. Strong lasting taste.
