Drinking remarkably well right now though I wouldn't wait much longer. Cork seemed dry and crumbled despite being stored properly on side for as long as I've owned the bottle (8+ years). But the wine inside was pristine.
Paired perfectly with homemade pulled pork.

This bottle must have been perfectly preserved. The cork was crap (broke twice during pull even with a Durand) but the wine was spectacular. Excellent drinking window right now.

I’ve had two bottles of this so far. Consistent notes across both, and both were PnP. Both are drinking at peak without any signs of fade. Super rich, complex, decadent, deep, spiced Syrah with dark fruit and smoked meat. Surprisingly high ABV but not noticeable. This wine is a meal in itself. One of the best Syrahs I’ve ever had. Second bottle had a dry crumbly cork, but the wine itself was intact.

From magnum. To steal some of JR's critique: "... exotic aromas of exuberant black and blue fruits ... smoky minerals, incense and Indian spices. Plump and juicy, with deep, sweet blackberry ... flavors, soft tannins and sweet vanilla and mocha qualities. A velvety palate-stainer with excellent finishing breadth and persistence."

(Lillian Winery Syrah) Opaque black red violet color; black fruit, plum, floral, anise, tar nose; very tasty, black fruit, meaty, anise, mineral palate; medium-plus finish 93+ pts.
(Lillian Winery Syrah) Stunning, almost opaque, exquisitely concentrated yet beautifully balanced, this Lillian is lush, meaty, and fruity, with jammy blackberries, leather, and bittersweet chocolate on the palate and a two-minute finish. It’s plush, like crushed velvet over blackberry syrup. Cult Wines for Tough Times

Needed a couple hrs decant, then great, rich syrah. I think the 2004 was a little better, but still really good. No sign of fading.
