Deep ruby color. On the nose, sour cherry, blackberry fruit, as well as dusty licorice and a touch of dry spice. On the palate it is medium bodied with nice acidity. Very nice QPR everyday Italian.

Caused me to pucker initially from the tannins, but this eased up and I enjoyed how it went with pasta w/cherry tomatoes, basil, parmesan. Some semi-sweet bubble gum aroma, a little mocha, a small amount of caramel/butterscotch. There was a non-fruit smell I couldn't identify; some kind of herb?

Pleasant brightness and acidity, like a pretty good Chianti.
