Just over seven years since my last bottle of this. Popped and poured, and showing well right out of the gate. Apple and white peach fruit complemented by light smoky tones and a hint of fresh almond. Acidity is bright and refreshing, even to the point of being zippy, and the sweetness has backed off to about halbtrocken levels. Delicious drinking now, and seems to be well positioned for another five or more years.

Sadly, shockingly the last bottle of 09 Donnhoff kabinett in my cellar, and I must have had 3-4 cases of various vineyards. The moral of the story is that I drank these too young, should have had more confidence in vintage over producer. This Kreuzenacher is in a great place, the RS is less evident and the wine shows a decent amount of structure and more acidity tha I'd expect for the vintage. I've had a number of Kabs in the past two weeks (Adam/Frohlich and now this) and while this was more proper and restrained, it was harmonious, balanced, and totally enjoyable.

Merger of TTTG &FTTG - Blind (DB): Light lemon color. Lime, lemon. Very young and primary with a bit of spritz. Lemon and apple, with well balanced, light sweetness. 09? Surprising, as this is more elegant than exuberant. My#4 of the night.

Green-tinged, light yellow in color, this showed lime and apple fruit, and even a hint of chlorophyll. Surprisingly refreshing acidity for an '09 makes this a more classic kabinett style than is typical to find in these days of global warming.

Peach, apple, lemon, lime. Really balanced sweetness- feels sweet then slightly dry on the finish. Floral. Strong acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.
