Same score as last note. I wanted to see what happened when I held on to Chalk Line 18 months longer than I normally would. Rewarded with really pure expression of WA fruit. Don't decant this. Oak has long blown off. Nose is full of cherry cola, like vanilla and cinnamon ran head first into Dr. Pepper. Also, still some grapeseed. Smoothed out over and hour to be more classic WA blend, and a bit more alcohol forward. No floral notes. Medium finish. Concluded save the space in your cellar for Gun Metal. It's good, but not worth keeping this long.

Ready to brink. Even a bit of prune in the nose says drink now. Brick red. Already aging. Medium viscosity, dark but not opaque. Not a lot of nose. Obviously a blend with bright raspberry fruit, a hint of mint and a bit of bell pepper which adds complexity. not powerful. not particularly complex. A solid Bordeaux blend. This is the intro wine for Guardian...let's look at their Gun Metal next. Medium weight. tart acid and marked tannins. Beautiful balance and long on the fruit in the finish. A solid wine ( I like WA more and more) but not exceptional.

Dare I say, better than 2007. Oaky when first opened, but after decanting for two hours becomes a soaring, classic WA red. Distinct floral quality is still present, but this year instead of raspberry getting more stone fruit and blackberry, and it's somehow even softer. A real treat, still the best red for $20 in the state.

(Guardian Cellars Chalk Line Red Wine Columbia Valley) Initially closed up on a nose that shows dusty chocolate aromas, blackberries, blueberries, and spice. On the taste, a big, rich bold wine that grabs you and shakes you with intense black fruit flavors. Finishes a bit hot. 31% Cabernet, 27% Syrah, 21% Merlot, and 21% Cabernet

Last bottle of the party. Not a long decant but opened up nicely very quickly. Excellent wine and you won't do any better for the price.

floral juicy red more than black fruit with long finish. Yet another fabulous Bordeaux blend from my home state.
