  • Absolutely in a great spot, but still many years to go. I would never have guessed 1999. The style reminds me a lot of Aldo Conterno and the grapes are from same area of Bussia. If you like Aldo Conterno, this is a must buy. It’s pricey but cheaper than Aldo Conterno for same quality. Recommend.

  • Bottle #1 had everything I was expecting. A delight: 92 Pts.
Bottle #2 a few months later => Corked
I have 4 more and hope they will show like Bottle #1

  • Decanted for 1+ hours, could last a few more years but again, why wait? Great drinking now. Complex nose (earth, mushroom, tar, licorice) and gives way to a palate that includes dark cherry, tar, licorice, a hint of sherry (age) and chocolate, and finishes long with soft tannins. The family who owns Rocche dei Manzoni acquired this vineyard in the late 90s…could it be because of the deliciousness of this wine? A great cellaring selection from my friend Gabrio Tosti di Valminuta (of De-Vino) many years ago. #95points (served with ribeye)

  • Nice noise. Licorice, earthly dark color, smooth tannins, great finish. Decanted 3 hours and drank with pasta and sausage.

  • Traveled 300 miles and then decanted for 3 hours. The wine is medium dark but translucent garnet. It has a very fragrant nose with dark red fruit, vanilla, chocolate, spices and roses. Palate is consistent with the nose and very layered and complex expressing cherry, chocolate covered cherries, gravel and pomegranate. It has a chewy rich mouthfeel and a long finish. Really good but better with time in the decanter
