Dark robust currant. Showing particularly well for a wine of this age. Some dark pepper spice, leather and bramble fruit. Nothing too exciting. Nice acid on the back end and lots of grip left. Just didn't excite anyone.

Decanted, tasted immediately and over the next several hours using Schott Zwiesel Enoteca Bordeaux glass. Definitely past prime, but drinkable. Color light ruby. Nose not as wonderfully fruit intense as I recall with the rest of the case, and it took time in the glass/decanter to get rid of a bit of bell pepper smell. Once that was gone, the fruit was more apparent and the wine more enjoyable (roughly 2 hrs after decanting).

Presented to the Friday tasting group at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle taken from my personal cellar. Bright disc. Medium-to-deep ruby/garnet robe with slight bricking at the rim. Clean nose, showing a bouquet of currants, underbrush, coffee, cola and cigar box. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium sweet tannins, medium acidity and and medium, smooth finish. Most tasters guessed that the wine was a '99 left bank Bordeaux.

Bright disc. Medium ruby with red/orange rim. Clean, pleasant nose of cherry, currants, vanilla and cola. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium and supple tannins. Similar flavors as nose. Medium, smooth finish. Drinking beautifully now, with plenty of fruit to hold and remain vibrant for at least 3-4 more years. Would doubt much improvement, however.

Needs at least an hour of decanting time. Stood up to the homemade oxtail stew we had this evening.
