Had friends over whose son used to work at Sinskey. Oh my, for a 9 year old pinot this was tasting great! Poured a little darker than most pinots with no discernible brown around the edges. Sweet cherries, raspberries and cola on the nose and palate. Great balance of fruit, tannins and acidity! It was worth the wait.

Robert Sinskey presents... (Milwaukee, WI): This was the first vineyard that they planted. It is the last picked every year, but still maintains high acid, it is noted. More density and concentration of fruit. Lots of mineral into raspberry aromas. Floral, some spice, black tea. 'Their feminine style, Vandal is jammier with more plum.' A little salty and full of complexity.

Cherry fruit bordering on tomato leaf on the nose. Maybe mullberry or something like a good blaufrankish? Finish is angular, much like a Carneros Pinot Noir. Finish is tense and rides its acids.

Robert Sinskey Vineyards line-up; 1/12/2012-3/14/2012 (Chez Moi): aromas coming off quite a bit tighter than either the 08 Carneros or 09 Aries Pinots. Seriously viscous in the glass. some oak pokes its head out of a hole and generally a darker aspect as well. Aries=red fruit, Carneros/Amigo=deeper darker red fruit. Palate displays much more mineral than the previous wines. 13.6ABV Again, super suave fruit texture to the palate and almost a violet thought. medium(-) tannin. this wine is seriously cranking right now.

Crushed cheery nose, some vanilla some cola, austere, lean, one dimensional quick bam then nothing. Not our favorite.
