Decanted before drinking. Tight and one-dimensional at first but started singing after 1.5 hours and stayed the course for the next 3-4 hours. Great complexity - plum, cherry, vanilla, and spice notes abound. Medium-bodied and tannins have integrated nicely. Still plenty of fruit left.
I’m sure this wine has the legs to further age and improve, but have no regrets about opening and enjoying this bottle. Will open my second and last bottle in about 5 years.

Still needs a decant though 23 years old. Lots of fruit remains with layers of smoke and bits of bell pepper and dill with plum and cherry fruit

Excellent, drinks very well with decanting, a classic. High acidity, wet forest and dill notes, layers of flavors with air.

Consumed over 3 days. Showing relatively young, easily a decade of life ahead.

Needless to say this is a very mature wine now. Some bottles will be better than others.
Even so at minimum I’ve found it to be a balanced gentle wine with considerable length.
12.5%! Cork.
