  • Very mellow and smooth with a long finish. Deep dark fruits with prune dominating and a little bit of leather in there. Opened up some and the prune gave way to grape jelly. A bit dusty. Decanted for 1/2 hour and drank over the next few hours. Big mouthfeel. Held up surprisingly well for a 17 year old Oregon Pinot.

  • drank over two nights, with and without food. Very dark purple/maroon color. Runny legs. On the first night the nose was very full, rich and robust: dark bramble fruits and oak. On the second night it lost some verve, the fruit disappeared leaving only lots of oak. Big palate full of ripe, smokey, dark fruit (also lots of oak). Rather soft edges (lacks counterbalancing acidity). Nice tannins. Very full on the midpalate, but a little one-dimensional. Again, lots of wood. The finish is smooth and mellow, but a little muddled - it lacks razzamatazz and punch. A big wine with lots of concentration. Equally enjoyable with food or stand alone. However, I think this bottle went a little too long in the cellar as it seems a little feeble and tired, it never found it's voice, rather it was content to muddle along.

  • Really enjoyed this one. Color is great, no sediment. Nose has some dirt, palate has red fruits, balanced acidity and light tannins. Improved about two hours after decanting. I've had some sub-par Pinot noirs recently, this one was above the norm

  • After an hour, the volatilty blows off and reveals some sweeter strawberry and floral notes... The palate shows less heat and is more cohesive.
