C4. Everyone loved this wine, and it’s delicious. But hot vintage takes away some of minerality and linearity. Still my favorite red the evening (1 Barolo and 3 Bdx). MPD at Bisato.

My favourite just from Hudelot Noellat Richebourg 2000 and Rene Engel Clos Vougeot 2002. Still quite deep ruby. Colour of a wine much younger! Lots of dark fruit and substance on the palate. Nose is deep forest, truffle, black cherry, leather and some soil/spice notes. Bigger and bolder than the other 2 wines, maybe less pure but more savage and powerful. Great with a 28ox rib eye (between 2 of us!) Fabulous and lots of life in this wine. Sadly only 2 left from an OCB...

6th out a 12bt OWC. Still delicious from the get go. Lovely bright core of ruby but clearly looking mature. Really seductive and ripe nose that is at the high end of the scale of pleasurable! Great spicy mouthful of ripe cherry fruit and decent length. Still holding together very well despite not having too much acidity left in it. Mistaken initially for the DRC Echezeaux until it was served later so it couldn't be too bad! Great value to quality ratio! Cheapest wine served and placed 2nd/10 by an experienced group of drinkers.

This was a surprise in contrast to earlier bottles. Lovely colour. Soft tones of red berries and light earthy nose. On the palate there was a certain freshness. There was lovely balance and ervything was held lightly together. Not long but suffiicient to provide a sense of completeness.

M&PD Tasting: Bisato (Seattle, WA, USA): Definitely a ripe vintage, baked earth, warm, generous and just delicious.
