Brought this to a family dinner at Dragon Phoenix Restaurant to celebrate the 1st birthday of my niece.
Though not a big fan of Chardonnays, this is quite flavourful and likeable. Some ripe pineapples with sharpness balanced with a thin layer of fats, rounded with apricot, peach and vanilla.
Nice wine to pair with Cantonese cuisine.

I'm not a big Chardonnay fan - usually too something. This one was actually very nice. Light color, lightly floral nose. While the oak is still in there, it is well concealed by the other complementary flavors. Medium-heavy weight, bold profile, crisp yet creamy, good acidity, and good concentration and combination of flavors (mineral, pears, hazelnut). Good QPR as well.

Chardonnays, particularly those with a global reach, tend to offer too much of a good thing: too much oak, too much butter, too much spice. But this gorgeous expression from Chile's cool and northerly Limarí Valley achieves outstanding balance, depth, and length. The oak is there, to be sure, mostly in the form of vanilla, nuts, and mild spice, as are some buttery lactic notes, but these are complemented on the nose by a fruity, at times dry-Riesling-like cornucopia of apricot, pineapple, apple, and lemon, with replays of tropical and orchard fruit on the palate. What stands out, though, is the lemon-lime citrus, the sense of rich yet refreshing lemon meringue pie, the acid cutting through the oak and textural thickness, along with a touch of minerality and then grapefruit pith on the finish. Expressive yet restrained, the disparate elements holding together nicely, this is New World Chardonnay near its very best. (Still fantastic on the second day, with extra notes of yellow plum, this gets boosted from 90 to 91.)

Youthful gold colour. Greengage, honeyed peach, toasted oak, smoky minerals. Textbook varietal character on the nose. Full bodied, buttery in the mouth, quite a lot of oak, yellow tropical fruit, precise acidity. Finely tuned finish with good length, some toasted oak and minerals bid farewell. Very correct and attractive, expert winemaking no doubt, excellent wine.

Pruneaux、apricot, peach, and plum. Ripe and intense flavours. Oak brings vanilla. Good acidity. Full bodied Chardonnay.
