(Wente Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Southern Hills) Saturated, very dark red violet color; savory, charcoal, ripe currant, raspberry preserves nose; medium bodied, raspberry preserves, ripe red currant palate with some balancing acidity; medium finish (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 5% Petite Sirah, 5% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc; 13.5% alcohol; aged 16 months in French & Eastern European oak and stainless steel) 85+ points

A lighter bodied Cab, but very expressive and pleasant to drink or have with food.

Unlike some previous reviewers, I think there is no major rush to drink this. not a hint of browning, no 'tired' notes, and even though the fruit has subsided and the tannins have softened, I think it will hold up for a while. Quite a pleasant reasonably price CA cabernet, actually.

Very pleasant, smooth, flavorful and easy drinking inexpensive Cab. Enjoy and I would drink 'em if you had 'em.

Great nose (tasted w a cold).
