Third time’s the charm! Bricking a bit, with secondaries starting to show, but fruit of cherry and cranberry is still prominant. Refer to my note of 2019. Even better. Perfect drinking window!

Definitely better than my previous bottle. Decanted but it was drinking well from the get-go. Nose is on the brooding, smoldering, dark fruit, baking spice side. Palate has great acidity and leans a bit more towards red fruits like cherry and a hint of raspberry. Sappy and tannic but overall nicely balanced. It’s in a good place now but I am skeptical it’s going to last a lot longer. Drink over the next few years with something confit like duck or chicken.

Initial earth and light red fruit on the nose. The earth blows off with air and the fruit takes center stage. On the palate, medium tannins and medium plus acid with bright red fruit and dry forest floor. Excellent QPR.

Nose is woody and spicy and slightly oxidized. Palate is bright and acidic (in a good way) with more pepper, baking spices and thyme. Ripe dark cherries, dried cranberries and an almost meaty note round out the medium-long finish. Very pleasant as it opens up, but the slightly oxidized note on the nose is the only thing holding it back. Probably time to drink up, but when you do be sure to pair with mushroom risotto.
