An almost equal blend of Viognier and Chardonnay, apricot, melon and peach with an almost briney, smokey, green olive undertone and a hint of butter. The mouthfeel is soft, rich and honeyed. Ripe, peachy and buttery, the alcohol twinned with the tangy zesty appley acidity creates quite a crunchy saline character and a fiery finish. There's great weight, richness and intensity but for me lacking in complexity or really defining characteristics ***1/2

smells kind of alcoholic, a bit like boozy fruit - pineapple all boozed up with rum or something like it, some dried mandarin peel, wax, honeycomb, a trace of lemon, it kind of remins me a little bit of Ch. Tahbilk's Marsanne (with something like 10 years of age on it); quite lemony on the palate, the acid lies throughout - It's cinsistent on the palate; fairly zippy on the palate and yet oily, lemon pith, dried citrus, decent length. Pretty good if you're in the mood for a slightly different fatter style Aussie white

Delicious co-ferment Chardonnay Viognier.
Not usually a style I would be interested in but loving Castagna wines decided to try.
Colour is bright golden, medium body, lots of ripe fruit here, helping of nuts & butter, with a finish that goes on & on.
The 2009 is drinking fantastically now, and is not a wine for long term cellaring.
Every part of this wine has come together right now. Drink up!
