  • This was opened for the sake of a trial as I have alot of this in the cellar - a great Rhone year. I might also have used the Coravin for a soupcon but I had a friend to supper to assist to finish the bottle, and I thought that it might be enirely ready and double-decanted the wine back into its cleaned bottle, and left it for an hour too. But, although too early yet to fully appreciate, it has that real depth of mingled fruit flavour with a solid (still) tannic structure that make it sensible to leave for another five years. After much swirling in the glass the wine finally gave of itself what we had been expecting earlier that evening! Soft, rich and fine crunchiness of the blackberry fruit, a herbaceous garrigue Rhone-ness so willing to please. Give it another few years and try again. Class will out.
