LTCOMPTON gave an interesting background on the producer and the wine. Based on his suggestion, this may be a slight bit "long in the tooth". Golden straw color, medium texture. Flavors and aromas of sweet pineapple, ripe apricot, hints of petrol, and some minerality. Seems to be lacking acidity which translates into too much sweetness on the palate, and a rather short and slightly bitter finish. Enhanced with food, in this case, baked Dover Sole with garlic lemon butter and herbs. Drink slightly chilled and not too cold. Overall, pretty simple and somewhat disappointing especially given the outstanding vintage and producer reputation. Drink up.

Pretty blah riesling. Received as a part of a Garagiste mystery case. Tastes like spatlesse, but not particularly good spatlesse. Fruit notes with a bit of acid. No reason to wait.

Very good and easy drinking. Found it rather low profile compared to other rieslings I've had, with only light wafts of the classic riesling nose and limited other notes. Happy enough to consume the remaining bottle however!

Simple and tasty with enough sweetness that richer, creamier food made it better than on its own.
