Still alive...not much fruit left and thinner than it was 10-12 years ago but very drinkable, smooth with some complexity which would have gone unnoticed after 4-6 years.

Seven and a half years have passed since pulling a cork on this wine (not counting a corked bottle). While the color may no longer be “purple” and now shades more toward a deep maroon, the profile hasn’t budged much at all. The nose and palate are loaded with brown sugar, molasses, graham cracker, Zin funk, animal musk, smoke, cherry and black fruit. This wine is layered and dense. It has grown in complexity. It finishes with coffee, vanilla and toast (no doubt but from the American oak). 100% Zinfandel with 0.23 RS. Some slight sediment has precipitated out. 15.8% alc. With smoked pork spare ribs. Delicious! Recommended.

Dried cherries, leather, and hints of spice on the nose. Earthy palate with more leather, meat, over layers of dissipating fruit. A treat to drink, has aged better than I would have expected.
