  • This bottle is starting to fall aparrt. The oxidation that is there is not good oxidation and the acid just destroys the flavors that are present. Good grapes that were destroyed buy the winemaker.

  • Here I am 5 1/2 years later and trying bottle numbertwo. Still too much citrus but it now resembles a Kabinett and Riesling, albeit the balance is off because of the acid that takes away the fruitiness of the Riesling. The fruit on this is still big and if it does not oxidize before the Acid completely moderates, it has potential to be even nicer

  • Here I am on my tear of insulting this particular style of Riesling and disagreeing with a bunch of others who think this style is good. If I want only grapefruit juice character, I can buy it a lot cheaper by buying real grapefruit juice rather than spending my money on a Riesling like this and wasting a wonderful grape that has been grossly mistreated by considering acidity over everything else.

Simply put this wine is significantly over acidic with little chance to be balanced out with any reasonable time in bottle. While it has a nice fruity nose with some peach and tropical fruits, the taste is devoid of fruit except the overbearing citrus. Is it a bad wine - no, just no where near what it could be. I am at a total loss how this wine is made by the same producer as the 2009. I hope its a single bottle issue here, but I truly don't believe that is the case.

  • At Shun Lee West after the ballet, good balance with nice floral overtones, went very well with the late night Chinese dinner.

  • A very nice Riesling with excellent fruit and mineral components that you expect from a German Riesling. And the acidity balances with the sweetness to produce a very pleasing finish. While not complex, this is a great all-round summer wine with only 9.5% alcohol.
