Purchased on release for $14. Garnet red color, with bricking on the edges. This zinfandel is obviously in late maturity. It exhibited a strong licorice profile, with some spicy clove and cinammon notes. The fruit is fading and somewhat tart, which I was expecting (and in fact paired quite well with a pork tenderloin stuffed with a cranberry/pine nut mixture). Despite its advanced age, the 14.7% alcohol is quite obvious on a hot finish. Drink up.
