Early in drinking window, give this at least an hour of airtime and you will be rewarded. Spicy, with ample fruit and classic crunchy tannins make this a perfect wine to pair with meats and richer foods. Drank over 3 days. Will improve over next 3-5 years.

Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco Montaribaldi 2013 Tasted next to the Nada Rombone 2013. The Montaribaldi in contrast is darker in all senses of the word, with a stronger licorice note on the nose although the nose was a bit more reticent. On the palate, black fruit, black cherry, sweet licorice, some sweetness, a more masculine style, more full bodied in the mid palate, but after it opened up we got quite a well rounded black fruit and licorice combination with a full bodied mid palate which was quite nice. 90/100

Color: medium ruby, garnet on the rim Nose: vibrant roses and licorice, star anise. Bit of amarena sour cherry. Just a singular depth of crushed petals of dark flowers. Tree bark and wet forest floor Palate: structure is towering here. Tannins that play games with more tannins. Acidity is medium-high. Mostly flowers, star anise and balsamic vinegar. Finish: very long
I apologize for commiting infanticide here. This needs 10 more years, at which point I would guess a 95 or more. Even then, with vigorous 5 hours of decanting, staggering depth, structure worthy of a gothic cathedral, tannins upon tannins that build a incredible texture. Nebbiolo done with respect. Outstanding

lot a tannin, but a bit after 2hrs. Subtle spice and herb. Not as expensive as I was expecting. Try again in 2023
