Somewhat distilled fruit, with a hint of tar -- not a plush load on the palate, but instead a wine that is 'spiritual' in the sense of a few steps elevated from the juice. As a result, very good with food (for instance pesto pasta).

This guy needs 5 years. It's quality, but too young. I decanted half the bottle and left the other half to slow ox over night, but it didn't resolve its youth.
This is excellent Barbera. Just needs time. When it's ready it will sing.
Right now it's still enjoyable, by leagues as it's balanced and dry savory fruit with molto tars. It's rusticity, grip and cleansing astringency were delish with lamb.
Buy and forget for 5 years. Betcha your dinner guests will never guess it's a $15 value. This sucker will be excellent 10 years out.

Color: dark ruby Nose: sour cherry, plum, apple, wet wood Palate: starts out quite high in acidity, tempering a but with time. Mix of cherry, plum, and blackberry, well balanced with acid and bitter. Tannins almost absent to my palate. Good balance in general, very enjoyable with a minestrone Finish: medium and well-balanced, some apple notes interestingly
