Dark ruby, notes of vanilla, oak, dark cherries. Sooth mouth filling, peppery note, chocolate, nice finish. While an excellent example of the 2016 Cabs, I dropped a point for value. In this price range, there are other more impressive cabs, ....but I do like this and PVR still is an excellent CLUB purchase.

While this is a well made wine and more balanced and structured than the regular Napa bottling of this estate, I was expecting more for the price I paid. While I would describe the Napa bottling as jammy and flabby, I would describe the Stag’s Leap as a wound up ball of tension and verve. My guess is this will become a better tasting experience with a few more years in the cellar.

Previousy posted, still awed. Just a wonderful Cal Cab experience. Great fruit nose, black cherry, vanilla, oak, mouth filling, well balanced, full finish with oak vanilla, cherry and forest floor notes... Served chilled and aerated for 1 hour. I have obtained 2 more, will cherish. While pricey, I feel this is a decent QPR, for special occasions.

Excellent example of Stag’s Leap cab. Dark fruit, well put together. An hour of air put it in a good place.

Crazy good cab. Initial mint on nose and palate and then it opens up to a more earthy flavor with a hint of dark berry.
