Colour straw/light amber. Bq w butter, nuts, apples, oak in background, touch of floral. Medium-to-full body w intense, pleasant acidity, fruit still forward (apples, touch of citrus). Long aftertaste w some oak bitterness. The lack of complexity in the aftertaste stops it from higher points. Still, a very, very good Burg. Will also last a few years longer.

1996 Rollin Corton-Charlemagne. This was awesome. A lilt little number with hints of some fresh soft Meyer lemon, graphite, petroleum jelly and spring flowers. Perfectly balanced and precise, a light to medium weighted mouth feel, this just glides over the tongue. Very nice indeed.

Opened and poured, following a couple of Chablis. Most youthful tasting of the four bottles that I've had. Color was a bit lighter than corn yellow which seemed appropriate for its age. Nose of lemon peel, apples, and bees wax. Medium-bodied with a lot of citrus flavors. Sadly it was the last bottle but very glad all bottles showed well.

Burgundy Rollin / J-M Pillot Dinner (Verve Wine - Chicago IL): Magnum. Intense richness with luxurious textures. Still fresh enough with good length, better density. Held up easily though several hours.

Same as previoius notes. It's been a pleasure drinking the aged Cortons.
