color: bright raspberry x medium ruby; nose: earthy oak -- but only very faint!; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, tastes of herbs and cassis (but also a little tart), medium-length finish with lots of tannins and some notes of toasted dark chocolate; overall: "meh"! Interesting but unfocused in an all-over-the-place way; not much nose or fruit taste; OK (but less than stellar) QPR at $11/bottle; serviceable as a weeknight curiosity, but I wouldn't pour it for company

A blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernets Franc (5%) and Sauvignon (5%). Aged for approx. 15 months in oak barrels, of which one third to one fourth were new.
Only slightly translucent, deep dark cherry color. Brooding and quite opulent nose with aromas of sweet dark berries, almost overripe red fruits, a little strawberry jam and a hint of glue. Very ripe, juicy and supple on the palate with soft, full-body. Flavors of sweet plummy fruits, ripe dark cherry and some chocolate oak. The wine seems to lack structure, as the acidity feels rather low and the manicured tannins lack grip. The medium-long finish is quite sweet with more pronounced oak influence; there are soft and mellow flavors of wood, plummy fruit, sweet red fruits and a little vanilla that seems to grow in intensity in the back of the mouth.
Albeit not an overdone wine nor as jammy as the nose led to believe, it is still hard to be interested in this wine that seems to be a textbook example of a boring textbook Merlot. The wine is polished to the point it is just smooth sheen with no rough surface whatsoever to get grip from. Probably an ok pairing for a sweeter BBQ pork, but I would look for something more characterful. Poor value at 14,69€.

Muted nose, thin legs - blueberry tones with a fair finish. Nothing stellar but a great weekday wine at $9.

Nice simple wine. Red fruits and some serious oak. Fairly tannic.
