Opaque garnet. Nose of cherries, more cherry in the mouth, a little cranberry, and a touch of cola on the midpalate. Finishes a little soft, not much acidity, so the balance is a touch off, but the intensity is good. Moderately long after the sip.
This will drink well on the short term -- to 2013, I'd say. I don't expect a lot of evolution. I'd say "don't bother with food," with this one, but it'd actually serve quite well with a variety of dishes, mainly due to it's straightforward nature; we had it with marinated pork loins and veggies, but I could see it with Chinese, or grilled fish, or even a light steak.

Decent pinot for the price. Bright red fruit, good balance but not something that's going to make you sit up and take notice.
