Exactly what gets me excited about California Pinots...I know I'm going to be in for something different from it's Northern brethren and his French counterparts and in a good way.
Starts fruit froward - think dark fruit - blueberry, blackberry but with a little oxygen and a few swirls - you start to get the earthiness
Finishes with hints of vanilla, tobacco, coffee
Just a very nice pinot that I wish I had more of.

Tasted this at the winery and was wowed. Split a case with those I was with at the tasting. This TN comes after a pop, 20 minute decant and pour.
Very dark color for a Pinot Noir. Sweet darkfruit nose. Blueberry bubblegum. More swirling gives a slight gaminess, but still a fruity bouquet.
The palate is just so far removed from the nose it's astonishing. Tart ripe cranberry on the attack fades to an "iron fist, velvet glove" mid-palate. Bright acidity meets a tongue-coating sensation that almost tickles the tongue. All covered in an earthy sensation. Finishes with vanilla, bacon, coffee, dust.
This PN is not for everyone, but it excites me like not a lot of Cali Pinots do. After Artesa's club and bulk discounts, this becomes somewhat a bargain for what is, in my uneducated opinion, top notch juice.

Deep purple color. Nose of blackberry and rose petals. Palate of blackberry, black cherry, and honey. Nicely balanced with a smooth long finish.
