Community Tasting Notes (9) Median Score: 88 points

  • Appearance: A true golden color, with medium intensity

Nose: It’s very unclean, I think it was corked. It has aromas of oranges, apricot, damp cardboard, old bananas. Not a good nose to say the least.

Palate: Medium sweetness, though not as sweet as I would have though, with low acid and no tannins. The body is medium, and not as heavy as I would have thought, with flavors of oranges, peach, light honey, and heavy on the marmalade, jammy, etc. the length is nonexistent.

Overall: Being that I am trying this wine after eight years, and the storage for this wine (not on it’s side), it is hard to give it an accurate rating. Yet, one can still tell that this is of subpar quality. In general, the fruit tastes poor. After giving it a few minutes to sit, the sweetness is a bit cloying, and is sort of horrible, lol. I would give this wine a pass.

Even with it being corked, I'll give it a 77 based on what I tasted, and would venture to say that it's a 85 or 86 if not corked. .

  • Maybe too old, all trace of acid and depth was gone, just sugar water.

  • Loads of rubber ball/tire on the nose accented with lemons. Sweet tropical fruit flavors heavy with peach, honey and pineapple. Short finish. Its been sitting in the cellar for quite a while and has held up nicely. Should have drank much sooner for best impact.

  • Aroma: White peach, lychee, honey, sweet grape fruit. Taste: Pure tropical fruit, honey, lychee, pineapple, hint of mint. Refreshing, not too sweet. Medium-Short finish. Past prime but still very enjoyable.

  • This bottle was forgotten in a corner of the wine closet. It has held up surprisingly well. There are still some nice apricot and pear notes (though, of course, the overall experience is a little flat after all this time.)
