Not a good night for the Rieslings. Opened after a corked and then a heat-damaged wine, and this had weird vinyl and melted plastic-y notes. Adrian later says it was corked.

Salil does Chicago 4; 4/6/2018-4/7/2018 (Chicago, IL): #13-02, 7.5% abv. The nose on this initially showed some weird chemical notes, like burnt rubber or somesuch, but with some extended air, a bit of TCA emerged.

GG Dinner (Table, Donkey & Stick - Chicago, IL): Wow, impressive nose is quite full, lifted and layered. Aromatics of rich white fruit with loads of honey and some earth tones from the age. Mouth-coating and voluminous on the palate. Rich and dense, yet fresh and lively. A very good sweet desert wine. Half a glass is more than enough for me.

Grosses Gewächs night (Chicago, IL): #13-02, 7.5% abv. After an evening of dry riesling, it is most important to refresh the palate with something more... lieblich. Incredible nose here that is just a mix of every good thing you want in riesling. Ripe orchard fruit with a fair dose of botrytis spice. The palate is intensely sweet, but there's plenty of acid here so that it's never cloying. Extremely concentrated but not heavy. This is basically a BA with the "Beeren" stripped off the label.

HDH Auction; 12/13/2014-12/14/2014 (TRU): A real stunner of a wine, and makes me realize that I need to drink more German riesling; Intensely concentrated fruit and sweetness, with an insanely long finish; Still very young, but drinking really well right now
