No formal notes taken on this as I took it over to my parents house for a cookout. I don't think the bottle was necessarily bad, but something just seemed off about it, maybe it was just over the hill. I have also never had Malbec before, so maybe that was just a flavor I was not used to. This wine was a very very deep red color, to the point where I was amazed. One very first taste (after aeration) it seemed almost sour, but that faded away after some more air. It seemed very tart and acidic with very little fruit coming through, not all that dissimilar to the Moon Mountain Merlot I had previously had (this is a blend of mostly Merlot and Malbec). Not my favorite wine, and not sure what else to make of it since I didn't take better notes. I drank one glass and let me mom keep the rest of the bottle.

Enjoyable, but probably not something I'll buy again soon. Definitely tasted some greens in the wine, and the finish had some sour cherry - I wasn't a huge fan.

Beautiful dark ruby colour. Nice toasty nose, hint of vanilla and ripe black cherry. The palate has very soft tannins, almost supple in style, with black cherry, roasted coffee bean, and a hint of stemminess. Finish lingers with nice acidity. Tasted blind and thought it was a Merlot dominant blend, and looking back on my notes it sure sounds like one, but its Cab!

Best wine of the night. Held up great. All the good things about a Sonoma Blend!

Most wax eloquently about the pluses and minuses of fruit, aroma et al. I will cut to the chase. This wine is crap.
