  Like it but not a wow wine at this stage. Restrained for Napa. Silky and good food wine. Pretty well integrated. Typical cab fruit profile. Some leathery notes.

  Had this at vineyard in St Helena in July 2012 and was initially disappointed with the wine. Popped and poured and had a glass immediately, the wine really seemed closed, giving little to nothing on the nose and seemingly devoid of any real fruit. Into the decanter it want to give it some air and this really changed the character of the wine. Within 30-45 minutes it seemed to add on a ton. Nose of dark fruit. Palate became much more concentrated with sweet blue and black fruit, cassis, a touch of espresso, and fine tannins. Finish is long and sweet.
  Definitely needs air now although I don't have a great sense of what this would do with significant time in the cellar. Score today would have been higher if it weren't for the initial impression upon opening.

  Sampled 1/29/12. Light in color for a 100% Napa Cab and with a surprising amount of red fruits. You get the feeling the wine will last quite a while and get a little better although never be a superstar. I liked this wine much more last year. Perhaps it is going through a bit of a dumb phase.

  Sampled 1/30/11. 100% Cab. Rich and dense. Wonderful balance. A sense that this could be something truly special in a few years. Not an overly ripe or extracted fruit bomb.
