I’ve never had a California chard this old (12 years). The butter and acid had faded such that it was just warm and casual in the mouth. Was bright in the glass, was not “too old” at all. I will be trying more A) old California chards and B) more old pine ridge

This is crisp, not Chablis clean, but good for Napa. I get lemon, pear, tart apples, a hint of butter (but minimal in the background). Vibrant acidity on the tart finish that turns creamy at the very end. Nice.

Consumed over ~1 hour, too cold at first, but warming to room temperature in the glass. Lacking when compared to our previous bottle 6 months ago. This was creamy and buttery, with not enough mild pear fruit or acid to balance it out. Feel free to mentally add a few points if you like CA-style buttery chardonnay, but I found this disappointing. 83-84.

Consumed over 1 1/2 hours. Dense, with tart apple/pear fruit and a sense of steeliness. Good acid with maybe a little heat at the end. Well enough made, but not especially elegant or complex.

These are consistently good across each vintage. Clean and crisp with notes of apple and pear. We always enjoy these.
